Hartsville Dollars makes gift giving easy and supports our local economy. “Purchasing Hartsville Dollars is a win/win situation for everyone,” says Johnna Shirley, President of The Greater Hartsville Chamber of Commerce. “A gift certificate to more than 100 Chamber Member businesses fits any age and any size. The giver wins because Hartsville Dollars are easy. The receiver wins because of the choices of places to spend Hartsville Dollars. And lastly, our local economy wins because it all stays local. It doesn’t get any better than that.”

Hartsville Dollars can be purchased at The Chamber of Commerce beginning August 6, 2012, 9:00am-5:00pm. Hartsville Dollars can be purchased by anyone, cash only please.

Hartsville Dollars will be offered in $5 and $10 increments and can be added together for larger values. When Hartsville Dollars are purchased, a list of Chamber Member businesses where they can be redeemed will be included. “Hartsville Dollars is not a fundraiser for The Chamber. It is simply something we wanted to do from our office to try to help increase business for our Chamber Members, “ said Shirley. “The mission of The Chamber is to encourage growth in the Hartsville area, and we are hoping the Hartsville Dollars will help in this effort.”

Chamber Member businesses can participate by calling The Chamber, 332-6401 by July 30, 2012 for the initial listing and then by the first of the month for updates going forward. It does not cost anything for a Chamber Member business to participate. They accept the Hartsville Dollars like cash and redeem them at The Chamber office. Chamber Member businesses can provide a product or a service in order to participate.
