Karlton Dudley was awaiting a grand jury decision on whether to indict him for the aggravated sexual assault of a minor when his wife Sarah was discovered dead near Lake Lewisville.
The Frisco Police Department looked into Dudley last year; he was charged on Wednesday with Abuse of Corpse.
A Frisco detective noted in an arrest document that Dudley saw a friend’s kid, who was under 14, roughly twice a week. This information has just been made public. According to reports, he would bring her to his flat, take her on outings and even let her stay the night.
Inappropriate Messages And Pictures
According to the affidavit, the girl’s mother didn’t realise Dudley was grooming her until she saw “suggestive and inappropriate” anime pictures that Dudley sent on the Discord messaging software on her tablet.
Her spouse, nevertheless, “assured her she was just being paranoid.”
After learning that Dudley had started speaking with their daughter over Gmail after her Discord app had been blocked, the mother said he “continued overstepping his boundaries with her family” and told police the family severed all relations with him.
According to the complaint, Dudley texted the couple after a disagreement arose about who owned a truck, stating that “he would consider it retaliation if they accuse him of something.”
The girl’s mother was compelled by that message to inquire of her daughter whether Dudley had ever touched her intimate areas. And in a forensic interview, the youngster allegedly said “an outcry of sexual abuse” after answering “yes,” according to the affidavit.

The affidavit added that although Dudley denied having any sexual contact with the girl, he did admit to giving her anime pictures of people he felt looked like her. He was then detained and, while donning a GPS monitor, released on bond ten days later.
This past Saturday, according to Plano police, Dudley was in the water at Lake Lewisville with that monitor still around his ankle.
Wife’s Body Found In The Lake
Although Dudley said he went there to go kayaking, police records reveal that he was really at the same part of the lake where his wife’s body was found.
He initially filed a missing person’s report for her on Saturday night when she failed to arrive for work at the RA Sushi restaurant at The Shops at Legacy.
Police claim they found her body inside a black duffel bag that matched the description of the missing item Dudley had reported from his residence.
Although Sarah Dudley’s body was positively recognised as being hers by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner, the cause of death has not yet been established.
Dudley is currently just accused with disrupting and/or removing her body from the scene. If the cause of death is determined to be a homicide, Plano police will consider pressing far more serious charges.
