A 41-year-old man was shot and killed by police in Tacoma, Washington, after he fired at them, according to authorities on Wednesday.
The Pierce County Force Investigation Team released a statement saying that on Tuesday afternoon, police were called to a disturbance where it was claimed that rounds were fired and struck two neighbouring occupied homes. No policemen were injured.
The statement also stated that because the alleged shooter was uncooperative, police requested assistance from a SWAT unit.
The individual shot at the cops after attempts to defuse the situation failed, according to the force team.
According to the statement, when police responded by firing, the individual was pronounced dead on the spot.
Both the man’s name and the cops’ names who fired at him have remained secret.
The force team is still looking into the matter.
