To continue receiving CalFresh benefits, you must submit the recertification application and participate in an interview prior to the expiration of your certification period.

In multiple counties, this recertification application can be conveniently completed online.

Check the designated box on question 12 of page 3 of the recertification application if you would like the county to evaluate your eligibility for Medi-Cal using the information from your CalFresh application if you are currently uninsured.

How to Recertify for SNAP Benefits?

If feasible, complete all sections of the recertification application. To initiate the recertification procedure, you must provide your name, address, and signature at minimum.

Take the time to familiarize yourself with your rights and responsibilities prior to signing this application.

You may submit the signed application via in-person delivery, mail, fax, or online submission to the County.

The County will send an interview appointment letter upon receipt of the application in order to facilitate a discussion about it.

While the majority of interviews are conducted over the phone, arrangements can be made for in-person interviews to take place at the County office or another location deemed suitable by the County.

Special Accommodations for Disabilities and Application Deadline

Be careful to inform the County if you require special accommodations due to a disability.

During the interview, your employee can assist in completing any outstanding sections or modifying the application as needed.

To recertify for CalFresh, you must submit this application before the end of your certification period.

If you fail to do so on time, your benefits may be interrupted. If the application is submitted more than 30 days after the end of the certification period, you will be required to submit a new application using the standard procedure.
