One man died after Texas police who were called to a yard fire discovered the man still alive and burning.
Before 4 o’clock in the afternoon, Houston Police were informed of the fire. Sunday.
According to HPD, neighbors notified authorities that a home’s front yard was on fire and that a naked guy was lying on the lawn.
First responders arrived and pronounced the individual deceased there, according to KTRK-TV. The man’s identification has not yet been verified by the police.
Police Investigate Suspected Death and Fire Incident on St. Mary’s Lane in Houston
Westside officers are at 10800 St. Mary’s (Lane) at a suspected death, Houston Police reported on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Sunday. The scene is being surveyed by homicide detectives.
Residents of the area expressed disbelief at hearing of such a thing occurring in their peaceful community.
We’ve never experienced any issues during my 18 years here. In response to hearing about it, Cesar Rincon, who also resides on St. Mary’s Lanesaid to KPRC-TV, “You’ve got to be kidding me.”
Investigations are underway to determine what caused the fire and death. KTRK-TV reports that witnesses who claim to know the man allegedly told police that he had a mental illness; however, authorities have not yet confirmed whether this was accurate.
