A second notice about an “armed and dangerous” person approaching campus was issued to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on Wednesday.

“If you are on or near campus, go inside and avoid windows,” the Town of Chapel Hill wrote on X, formerly Twitter, Wednesday.
Alert Carolina warned, “Emergency: Armed, dangerous person on or near campus. Go inside now; avoid windows.”
This occurred only a few weeks after Tailei Qi, a PhD candidate at UNC Chapel Hill who has previously studied in Wuhan, China, and Louisiana, was charged with killing an assistant professor in a chemistry lab building. Prior to the suspect’s detention, the shooting led to a lockdown on the entire campus and a manhunt.
