According to FOX 2 Detroit, Jeremy James Wallace is charged with going to Metro Pawn & Guns in New Haven, Michigan, on September 6 and asking to examine a 0.22 calibre pistol.

He asked to see another gun after inspecting the handgun. Authorities claimed Wallace took the employee’s gun as he reached for the second one. Two empty magazines and a 0.22 calibre handgun were found before leaving the business.

When Macomb County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived on the scene, they observed Wallace running behind the pawn shop and into a wooded area, where he was eventually apprehended.

Deputies assert in the document, which the TV station acquired, that Wallace acknowledged entering the country illegally and added that he had swum the St. Clair River from Sombra, Ontario, to reach the American side.

Wallace allegedly admitted to deputies that he was wearing a wetsuit, flotation devices, and swimming fins when he entered the country.

Wallace reportedly disclosed to detectives that he had a hammer, crossbow ammunition, and a crossbow gun in case he needed to rob the shop.

Wallace intended to swim back to Sombra after he had the weapon, according to the court document.

Wallace claimed that the reason he planned the heist was because he is unable to get a gun in Canada due to a previous firearm offence.

Wallace has been accused of illegal entry by an alien, having a weapon and ammunition in their possession while being an alien, and having a stolen weapon in their possession.
