354 pounds of methamphetamine were taken from a pick-up truck that was entering the country from Mexico by US Customs and Border Protection.

At about 4 p.m., agents from Customs and Border Protection made the seizure at the Paso Del Norte international crossing that connects the Mexican and American states of New Mexico.

In accordance with a press release released by CBP on Monday, on Saturday while they were carrying out a pre-primary enforcement operation in the vicinity directly south of the inspection booths.

Authorities discovered a 31-year-old woman driving a Dodge Ram truck approximately south of the inspection booths.

Officers were notified when a CBP drug-sniffing dog found something in the pickup’s bed. Officers escorted the car to the secondary exam area after receiving the alert.

Following a Z-Portal x-ray scan of the car by CBP agents, a physical inspection revealed 161 foil-wrapped bundles containing 354 pounds of meth hidden under the truck bed liner.

Methamphetamine tests verified that the packages’ contents included meth.

The driver was then detained by CBP agents following that. Later on, she was moved to the Texas Department of Public Safety to answer to charges pertaining to the botched smuggling.
