A sheriff’s spokesman said on Sunday that a driver who endured four nights in the frigid weather in the mountains close to Los Angeles was rescued and sent to the hospital.

Although Lt. William Fillpot of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office could not confirm the woman’s precise health or injuries, he stated that she was stable. 

According to him, the woman informed the rescuers that she had driven her Ford Ranger pickup vehicle off the road on Wednesday.

Fillpot stated that investigators were investigating the theory that the motorist swerved to miss a deer.

About 12:30 p.m., a Los Angeles County firefighter who was passing through the area unintentionally found her when he observed the pickup over the side of Mt. Baldy Road is close to the 3-mile marker. Sunday, he mentioned.

Survivor Extracted from Mountain Crash Near Claremont

Fillpot stated that after being extracted from the debris, she was evacuated to Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center by rescuers.

A request for additional information was not immediately answered by the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The foothill city of Claremont is connected to Mount Baldy Resort and Mount Baldy, the highest peak in Los Angeles County at 10,064 feet, via a 13-mile route.

Situated in the San Gabriel Mountains, approximately 50 miles northeast of Los Angeles’ downtown, lies Mount Baldy, also referred to as Mount San Antonio.

Recent days have seen comparatively cold weather, with highs in the low 50s and lows close to thirty. It was unclear whether the woman had food and drink, or how she stayed warm.

Mt. Baldy Resort, which said it had a couple inches of snowfall naturally last week, stated that severe winds were predicted to cause temperatures to drop into the single digits on Sunday.
