American Rescue Plan: Overview of the $1.9 Trillion Stimulus Package, Including $1,400 Stimulus Checks

Many Americans find themselves in need of assistance from the government, especially in light of the rapidly rising cost of living and the stagnant employment market.

The U.S. passed the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, a 1.9 trillion dollar economic stimulus package, which included the 1400 dollar stimulus check. President Biden signed the legislation into effect.

The purpose of this stimulus program was to help the US recover from the COVID-19 pandemic’s negative impact on the economy and public health as well as the current recession.

The primary criterion for eligibility for the $1,400 stimulus check was income. The entire amount was available to individuals earning up to $75,000 annually, heads of households earning up to $112,500 annually, and married couples filing jointly earning up to $150,000 annually.

Higher earners saw a reduction in their check, which eventually phased out completely for those making 80,000 dollars, heads of household making 120,000 dollars, and married couples making 160,000 dollars.

Which States Will Receive Stimulus Checks?
