Boyfriend arrested after Dead Body of Girlfriend was discovered in Trash Can near their House

It is alleged that a man from Virginia was responsible for the death of a woman whose body was discovered in a trash collection truck close to the residence that they shared.

In connection with the death of Taty’ana Zakiyyah Cooks, who was 30 years old, Brendon Devon White, who is 28 years old, was taken into custody on Saturday and charged with murder. The fact that White and Cooks were still living together in the same house despite having been in a previous relationship has been confirmed by the police at this time.

The missing person report for Cooks was filed on March 21 after she failed to pick up her child from the childcare center.

During the course of the inquiry, the investigators found that Cooks’ possessions were still present in her residence in Woodbridge, but White was reportedly operating the vehicle that she had rented.

“Detectives stopped and secured a trash collection truck where the victim’s body was later located,” according to a news release issued by the Prince William County Police Department and published on X (previously Twitter). This occurred on Friday, while the officers were in the vicinity of Cooks’ residence.

As stated in the press release, “Additional evidence was discovered which indicated that the accused was involved in the death of the victim.” This coming week, there will be a hearing for White slated to take place. For the time being, it is not clear whether he has hired a lawyer to represent him in court.
