AAA’s data shows a decrease in the average gas price at Georgia’s pumps when compared to the previous week.

As of Monday, the average price of unleaded gas in Georgia stands at $3.28 per gallon. This represents a decrease of five cents from the previous week’s state average.

On Monday, the average cost for Georgia drivers to fill up a 15-gallon tank with regular gasoline was $49.20. This marks a decrease of $6 from the same time last year.

According to Montrae Waters, a spokesperson for AAA, the current hurricane season is anticipated to have an effect on gas prices.

According to AAA-The Auto Club Group spokeswoman, Montrae Waiters, drivers in Georgia are still enjoying lower gas prices, even with a potential storm looming. However, she warns that gas prices could fluctuate until hurricane season is over and the Gulf Coast oil and gas production and refining facilities are no longer under threat.

In the previous week, the national average for gas prices went down and now stands at $3.47.

In Georgia, the metropolitan areas that are the most expensive include Savannah, Brunswick, and Atlanta, with gas prices averaging at $3.36, $3.35, and $3.31, respectively. On the other hand, the least expensive Georgia markets for gas are Rome, Dalton, and Catoosa-Dade-Walker, with prices averaging at $3.16, $3.14, and $3.10, respectively.
