We must be mindful that we can sometimes impregnate ourselves with things. Let’s think of this in the natural. Can a woman impregnate herself with seed that carries all the DNA and chromosomes needed to bare a normal child? I’m afraid not and she never will! That gift and ability was given to the male who God supplied with seed and everything that was needed to create another human being.
It’s the same spiritually as well. When we give ourselves an assignment, even though it might be a good thing, it won’t succeed the way we may want it to, nor will it bring glory to God. This is because God has not given us the seed. He has not fertilized us with the DNA that’s needed to create a thriving creation. You may have a wonderful idea that in your plan will bear lots fruit but God hasn’t fertilized it. It can’t come to its fullest potential because an important part of it is missing. I have had to learn this the hard way. This is why it is essential to pray and consult the Holy Spirit about any and everything that you set out to do for the kingdom.
One of the best feelings in the world is when you have a clean plate and nothing is troubling your spirit. Mind you, even as a believer, that is seldom a destination layover, but it is obtainable.
Recently I had several things on my mind and had taken to heart, but I found out shortly after that it was a bit much for me as I couldn’t effectively do what I believe was my true assignment. Many of you can say the same I’m sure. Sometimes you really go out of your way to be a help to someone, then come to find out it wasn’t what they really wanted in the first place. It was then that I came to realize that it was time to let it go! Some of you don’t like that term “let it go” because it can be very painful. But I have a way to help you get to that point of release.
You don’t have to do it the way I did, but this is what worked for me. I drew up a nice tub of hot water and got in and soaked for about 10-15 minutes and just emptied my head. Oh all sorts of things will come to mind, but don’t worry, let it all bubble up then get rid of it.
Next begin to repent of any part you may have played in trying to move God’s hand instead of letting Him lead the way. The next phase is to say out loud that you release that thing or that person. You may not even mean it at first, but keep saying it until something on the inside clicks and the work of God will begin to help you actually release.
Stay there until you feel it even if your bath water gets cool. It’ll be worth it! Be serious about this process. It will bring healing to your bruised spirit. It’s not a good feeling to mean someone or something a world of good and later see that you weren’t really helping at all because you assumed you have the answer. Allow yourself to heal, forgive and release. It is a lesson learned and will bring you closer to hearing the voice of God and ignoring your own. After all, would you rather be right or are you willing to be wrong and then get it right? Release it!
