House of Hope of the Pee Dee has acquired a property on Bobo Newsome Highway in Hartsville. The property was originally the residence of the late W.J. “Bill” Bell and has been donated to House of Hope by his family.

Shirley and Edward Ruffin are the City of Hartsville’s Recyclers of the Month for August 2015. The family recycles everything, Shirley Ruffin said, including glass, paper and plastic, and keeps a bin inside the house dedicated to recyclables.
