Francis Marion University sophomore Nikita Berger has been named to the 2019 Peach Belt Conference Women’s Tennis All-Academic Team.
A native of Hartsville, Berger boasts a 3.745 grade point average as a biology major.
She has been named to the FMU Swamp Fox Athletic-Academic Honor Roll on every possible occasion, and also earned a spot on the 2018 Peach Belt Conference Presidential Honor Roll. She is a CHE Palmetto Fellow and is currently serving on FMU’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
On the court, Berger led the Patriots with 14 singles victories (in 20 decisions), primarily at the No.5 position. She also posted a 4-5 mark in the No.2 doubles spot for FMU.
She has been part of a Francis Marion program that has earned an ITA All-Academic Team award each of the past four years.
The All-Academic team is part of a season-long program recognizing the outstanding accomplishments of PBC student-athletes in the classroom as well as on the field of play. To be eligible for the All-Academic team, a student-athlete must participate in at least half of her team’s matches and be either a starter or significant contributor, achieve a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale), and have completed at least one full academic year at her current institution.
Berger is a graduate of Hartsville High School, where she helped lead the Red Foxes to the AAAA state tournament as a senior.
