Christian Recovery meeting location Due to construction at The Player House, Christian Recovery has moved its meeting to New Providence Baptist Church, 1884 Antioch Road at the corner of North Center Road. Hartsville Farmers Markets Your Hartsville Farmers Market will be on the second Saturday of each month. The event is Downtown on E. Carolina Avenue from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and features local produce, craftsmen, non-profit organizations, and fun food!

Downtown Block Party Main Street Hartsville will be hosting their annual Downtown Block Party on Thursday, May 9th, on the 100 block of East College Avenue, featuring Felonious Funk. This event will start at 6 p.m.-9 p.m. and is free and sponsored by Sonoco. Come out and enjoy the energy under the lights!

Lawton Park Paddle Opps Enjoy free paddle with kayaks, canoes and paddle boards. Take advantage of free instruction by Naturally Outdoors and free play! Bring the family, all ages are welcomed! Join them in Lawton Park at 716 Prestwood Drive on one of the following Saturdays (and one Sunday) during May: Saturday May 12th from 9 a.m.–12 p.m. Saturday May 26th from 9 a.m.–12 p.m. Sunday May 27th from 2 p.m.–5 p.m.

Neptune Island Season Pass Holder Day Neptune Island, 1109 14th Street, Hartsville is inviting 2018 and 2019 Neptune Island Waterpark season pass holders for an exclusive visit to the island prior to the 2019 opening day. Join them on Saturday, May 18th from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. for this exclusive day. All visitors to the park must present their season pass for entry. Bring-a-Friend passes may be redeemed during the Season Pass Holder day, but regular admission tickets will not be sold.

Hometown Urgent Care Hometown Urgent Care, 305 W. Bobo Newsom Hwy., will be having their one year celebration on Saturday, May 25th. There will be free food, prizes, games, bounce house and ending the day with a concert from Doug McCormick. The celebration will start around 4 p.m. and wind up around 8 p.m. Bring your outdoor chairs and enjoy the Memorial Day weekend.

Girls University Summer Adventure Camps Girls University will be having summer adventure camps for girls grades 5k-6th at Coker College in Hartsville beginning June 10th-July 26 from 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Registration will be held at Coker College on May 23rd and May 30th from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. Call 843-407-7937 for registration or email Info@girls-university. com.

GSSM STEM Summer Camps iTEAMS XTREME Next Generation for rising 6th, 7th and 8th graders. Work in teams to program microcontrollers and robots and explore digital communications between linked hardware and the Internet of Things. June 10th-13th, GSSM campus, Hartsville.

GSSM’s GoSciTech Summer camp experience For rising 8th, 9th and 10th graders. Spend a week immersed in a STEM Topic of your choice during the residential camp. Choose any week or stay all four. June 16th-22nd, June 23rd-29th, July 7th-13th, July 14th-20th at GSSM campus, Hartsville.

AL-ANON Al-Anon will meet in Hartsville at 310 S. McFarland Street every Thursday beginning at 8 p.m.

City Council meeting Hartsville City Council holds regular council meetings on the second Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in Council Chambers, found on the first floor of City Hall, 100 East Carolina Avenue. Notification of special meetings is provided at least 24 hours in advance, and agendas are posted in the alcove outside of Council Chambers.
