Gospel in the Park series returns to Pride Park on May 2

The wait is over. Gospel in the Park Series 2021 returns Sunday, May 2, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. in Pride Park, 630 S. 6th Street. The theme is Bringing Unity into Our Community! Devotional service will be rendered by Rev. Anthony Caldwell, pastor of Centenary Kingsville United Methodist Churches. Live gospel entertainment by Minister Roland Johnson and Company, Sumter, Bobby Wilson and Chosen Ones, Bishopville, YAYA Community Project Choir Florence, The Amazing Vizionaires, Belton and more. 2021-2022 travel soccer tryouts

Hartsville United will be holding tryouts for the 2021-2022 soccer season on Saturday, May 15th. U9-U12 birthdate between January 1, 2013 and December 31, 2010 will be 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. U13-U18 birthdate between January 1, 2004 to December 31, 2009 will be 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A make-up session will be held on Tuesday, May 18 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. This is only for those who are not able to attend on Saturday Tryouts are free and will be held at Byerly Park, in Hartsville. The team fee for the season will be $350 for fall and $275 for spring (Only U9-U12 play in the spring) and the uniform is included in the team fee. Payment plans are available. Also, we need coaches. Christian Recovery meeting location

Christian Recovery is now meeting at New Providence Baptist Church, 1884 Antioch Road at the corner of North Center Road. The meeting is every Thursday at 7 p.m. All those struggling with addiction and family members are welcome. For more information, call 843-992-5222 or 843-307-7193.

Hartsville Fire Department now has stickers you can put on your door or window at home to inform the fire department there is a pet in your home. You can come by Hartsville Fire Department at 111 S. 7th St. to pick one up.

Deer Creek Ranch and Horse Rescue

Deer Creek Ranch and Horse Rescue, 3047 Patrick Hwy., Hartsville is a horse rescue ranch with a mission of rehabilitating and restoring abandoned horses to good homes. They also offer horse camp for ages 7+, trail rides, fishing, petting zoo, birthday parties and many more activities. Go check them out and enjoy the beauty of this 80 acre ranch!

Good News Club

Good News Club is an after-school Bible club held after school for about one hour one day a week filled with songs, games, snacks, and a Bible story at various elementary schools in the area: Carolina Elementary, North Hartsville Elementary, Thornwell School for the Arts and West Hartsville Elementary. Parents who are interested in enrolling their children in this club should contact their school for more information. Participation is voluntary and free.

Girl Scout meetings

Hartsville Toastmasters meetings

The Hartsville Toastmasters meet every second and fourth Monday at 7 p.m. at the Black Creek Arts Council building at 116 West College Avenue, Hartsville. Toastmasters International is a non-profit club specializing in the improvement of leadership and speaking skills in a controlled, constructive setting. Guests are welcome and admission is free.
