Statewide conference on historic preservation
The South Carolina Archives & History Foundation (SCAHF) and the South Carolina Department of Archives & History (SCDAH) will host the annual statewide conference on historic preservation on Friday, April 26th at the Archives & History Center, located at 8301 Parklane Road, Columbia.
The informative, fast-paced conference features a wide range of sessions on South Carolina history, historic properties, and current preservation topics. Each year the annual conference attracts more than 200 attendees from across the state and region. Various sessions will be eligible for SCPEAC continuing education credits for local government staff and board members. Sessions will highlight topics such as cemetery preservation plans, restoration of Piedmont slave structures, digital documentation of historic structures, traditional building arts and future artisans, making the case for mid-century modern, historic preservation tax credits for home owners and historic opportunity: opportunity zones and historic redevelopment.
