Neptune Island Waterpark opened its doors to the public on June 18, and concluded its season on September 9. During the first season, Neptune Island saw over 64,000 guests in the brand new waterpark and projects to see 80,000 next season. The waterpark had over 6,000 season pass holders that frequented the waterpark this summer. Neptune Island welcomed visitors from a total of 25 states and a large volume of attendees within a 75 mile radius of Hartsville.

Not only did the waterpark accomplish quite a successful first season at the park, they also brought home two awards from the World Waterpark Association’s annual Wave Review Awards. Neptune Island was awarded Best Brochure and Best Website among many other competitors in their category of less than 100,000 annual waterpark attendees.

Marketing and Events Coordinator, Jordan Braddock, said “Neptune Island is very proud to have accomplished so many amazing things in its first season. We are excited to have been awarded by the World Waterpark Association for our marketing efforts this year and can’t wait to see what 2019 will bring to our park.”

Neptune Island will be using the off season to prepare the park and staff for a wonderful 2019 season. The park will reopen to the public on May 19. Due to an unexpected early 2018 closing, Neptune Island will open on May 18 to its 2018 season pass holders for an exclusive season pass holder event.
