Nutcracker auditions set for Sept. 16

The Brenda Cranford School of Dance and the Hartsville Community Players are excited to announce that the Columbia City Ballet will once again for the third season, bring their production of “The Nutcracker” to Hartsville on Dec. 16. The one performance only of the wonderful classic ballet will be performed at the Center Theater at 7:30 p.m.

Local area dancers are invited to audition for a chance to dance with the company in the performance. Auditions will be Friday, Sept. 16 and will be held on the stage of the Center Theater. Audition times are 4-5 p.m. for male and female dancers ages 4-6, 5-5:45 p.m. male and female dancers, ages 7-10, and 5:45-6:30 p.m. for male and female dancers, 11 years of age and up. (Bring pointe shoes for those on pointe over 2 years).

Audition dress code is CCB Audition dress code and females must wear a black leotard, pink tights, hair in slick bun with lip and cheek color with light eye shadow. Male dress code is white leotard or plain white tee shirt, black tights and black shoes or black tights with white socks and white shoes.

There is a $20 audition fee and please make payable to the Columbia City Ballet. Last season over 35 Hartsville dancers were chosen to share the stage with the Columbia City Ballet and the performance was to a full theater.
