The tests and trials are for training
During the course of my career, the things I have despised the most have been in-services and training sessions. It was terribly frustrating having to sit in those boring classes that I had repeated so many times before. But little did I know, I had need of those training tools again.
In our personal lives we face challenges that can cause stress and anguish but here is something to think about my friends. The Most High is always with us even in the most difficult times. Could it be the things we encounter that seem to be sent to destroy us are actually training grounds for us as believers? If we really give it some thought and consider the words of our Lord, we will see that the Father allows every trial that comes our way to be unleashed upon us.
Let’s look at the Book of Job where we see that The Most High asked Satan a question after the sons of God came to present themselves before Him. He asks, “Have you considered My servant Job? For there is no one on earth like him, a man who is blameless and upright, who fears God and shuns evil.”
In my paraphrased response, Satan tells the Lord, “I did indeed see Job with all his wonderful life, but if you allow me to take away some of that and make him miserable, he will curse You.”
It’s then that The Most High gives Satan the approval to put his hand on Job’s life to reveal what Job was made of.
Do you remember the movie, “Training Days” with Denzel Washington? That poor rookie was sent through the ringer but he never gave up and in the end, he came out on top having gone through his rigorous training.
We can also look at Joseph with his coat of many colors. This young man went through opposition that seemed not to let up, but he stayed the course and didn’t blame anyone for what he was going through. You see there were some things that Joseph needed “training” in to get where God had planned for him to be one day in leadership. When both Job and Joseph passed their training process, they were more blessed than they had ever been. Why? Because they trusted God Who allowed the process. God knows what’s on the inside of you and He will get the optimum from your dedicated life.
It’s sometimes hard to trust when you’re going through the process but it’s at that time that we have to submit to the will of the all seeing and all-knowing God who sees and knows our future.
Jeremiah 29:11 states, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Therefore, He would never put us in a place of destruction and abandon us. He will allow your hard times to be your training times that will prepare you for greatness in Him.
