The Hartsville Red Foxes showed up at the Darlington high school stadium competing in another conference game, this time against the Falcons last Thursday night. Due to the expectation of acclimate weather on Friday, the game was played instead on Thursday evening at 6 p.m.

The Hartsville fans lit up the visitors’ side with red and black to cheer on our undefeated team.

The Hartsville defense came up big all night, limiting the Falcons to just 106 total yards of offense to go with a blocked field goal attempt that was run back for a touchdown by DB #25 Dejon Pinnacle. Needless to say, this brought the fans to their feet. #11 Justin Abraham stomped through the Falcon line of defense for a tackle early in the game which kept the Red Foxes focused on penetration.

Dariyan Pendergrass had 135 yards on five carries and two touchdowns. RB #3 Collins Bishop did not disappoint with three touchdowns and 75 yards rushing during the game. The Foxes dug in to execute, a sack, interceptions, blocks, tackles and touchdowns, giving Hartsville a winning score of Foxes 48, Falcons 0.

Hartsville really showed their strengths, but also some weaknesses that could possibly be a threat to a win against Myrtle Beach.

Next week, the Foxes will battle against the Myrtle Beach Seahawks. Hartsville ranks slightly above Myrtle Beach in both the state and class AAAA rankings. The Foxes have come this far and have no plans to break their current undefeated status. This competition will go down at the home of the Foxes, Kelleytown stadium. Game time is 7:30 p.m. Friday, November 2. Please make sure to come out and support your hometown team.

Our Shoney’s offensive player of the week is #3 Collins Bishop and our defensive player of the week is #25 Dejon Pinnacle. We would like to take the time to thank these two for going over and beyond as well as the entire team for their teamwork in this competition. Congratulations!
