50 years! Can you believe it! I can’t. I have had people ask me when I was going to retire and I always say when Jesus comes.

I’ve met so many people over the years that I have formed friendships with. Some are good ‘telephone’ friends who live in other states. They mail their returns to us. One of those has been using our firm for over 20 years. She has a horse farm in Florida. I never knew what she looked like until we had to put driver’s license information on the tax return. Wow!

Over the past years, we have lost clients due to retirement and death. Some of those became my clients 30 or 40 years ago. I have a few that have been with me 49 years.

We have seen all the changes and went through them with our clients. Year 1986 was the really big change and in order to keep up, most tax offices computerized. Some offices dropped out of the program. Last year was another big change with the TCJA (Tax cuts and Jobs act). Again, some firms dropped out. We have already had many calls because their preparers have stopped doing returns.

So, I am still working. I am like the pink bunny - I keep going, going, going.

I do want to thank all the people who are my clients for coming to us over the years. We have a very good reputation in and around Hartsville.

Good life
