Columbia, SC (HNJ) — Students in York, Clover, and Chester County schools are returning to the classroom on Thursday.
This year, South Carolina has introduced a new rule banning the use of mobile phones in schools. Schools that don’t comply risk losing state funding.
Many students previously used apps like Canva on their phones for school projects. Now, they’re concerned about how they’ll contact their parents in an emergency. However, school officials believe the ban will reduce distractions and help minimize cyberbullying.
