A federal court has sentenced a 30-year-old man to four years and four months in prison for his role in transporting more than 15 kilograms of cocaine from Texas to Richmond.
The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) reported that in November 2023, Jesus Alejandro Ibarra-Morales, 30 years old, traveled from Mexico to Brownsville, Texas. There, he acquired two car dollies loaded with over 15 kilograms of cocaine concealed in their axles.
The DOJ received a tip-off that drugs were being transported to Virginia and immediately alerted the law enforcement agents. In response, the agents intercepted the vehicle being driven by Ibarra-Morales in the Richmond region. Upon searching the vehicle, they discovered a significant quantity of cocaine.
On August 2, the court delivered the sentence for Ibarra-Morales.
