Authorities say a Florida man is accused of killing his 80-year-old wife and dismembering her with a chainsaw before concealing her body parts in several suitcases last month.

According to the Delray Beach Police Department, William Lowe was apprehended on Wednesday night for the murder of Aydil Barbosa Fontes. Police Chief Russ Mager stated that Loew has been charged with first-degree murder.

Her head was fatally shot, according to the authorities. They still don’t know exactly when she was shot. During a press conference, Det. Mike Liberta announced that a gun had been found.

When someone uncovered human remains in a bag in the Intracoastal waterway on July 21, Fontes was located. The same day, two further pieces of luggage were discovered in the same location.

Two more bags were reportedly discovered nearby the next day, according to the investigators. Before the suitcases were discovered, witnesses claimed to have seen a person and a car in the area numerous times over the course of several days.

Detectives discovered Lowe’s residence thanks to video surveillance and his licence plate. One of the luggage contained an airline scan code that returned to “Barbosa Ontes / A” with the same address as Lowe’s vehicle tag.

In Lowe’s home, where he said his wife had been away in Brazil for at least three weeks, authorities obtained a warrant to search. According to court documents FOX Orlando was able to obtain, during a search of his home, authorities discovered blood spatter throughout the living room, dining room, both bathrooms, master bedroom, and hallway.

Lowe attempted to re-enter the house while they were conducting the search and claimed he was looking for the keys to a storage unit. Detectives inspected the residence on Tuesday and discovered a bloody chainsaw with human hair on it.

There is no known reason for the murder. For 15 years, Lowe and Fontes were wed. When Lowe showed up in court on Thursday, bond was rejected.
