These vehicles are poised to play a pivotal role in conducting construction and maintenance missions for vital infrastructure assets such as airfields, roadways, landing strips, supply facilities, and motor pools.

The decision underscores the strategic importance of bolstering the military’s logistical support and operational readiness. This order marks an expansion of the existing firm-fixed price contract of $296 million, which was awarded to Mack Defense in 2018. While the precise value of the contract remains undisclosed, industry experts estimate it could approximate $60 million. The latest batch of 135 HDTs encompasses diverse funding sources: 60 are slated for acquisition by the US Army Reserve, 74 are earmarked through the Presidential Budget, and one is designated for purchase by the US Navy.

With this latest order, the total count of HDTs reaches an impressive 446 units, signifying the widespread recognition of the vehicle’s utility and efficiency.
