The VA Disability Claim is a procedure that assists United States veterans in receiving support from the Government due to their service to the country. All veterans interested in receiving benefits must submit an application and undergo an evaluation to determine their eligibility for the program and the amount they may receive based on their disability. Some applicants may be denied due to various reasons during this process. Even though it can be a lengthy and challenging procedure, it is highly advised for veterans to apply for VA disability benefits. Having your claim denied can be particularly aggravating following the application process.

Can I resubmit a VA disability claim?

If you find yourself in a situation where your VA Disability Claim is denied, don’t lose hope as there are still options available to you. Facing a denial or an unsuccessful completion of the appeals process does not mark the conclusion of the situation. There is an alternative that may spare you from having to repeat the entire process. You have the option to request the VA regional office to reopen your claim. However, there is an issue with not having an automatic right to reopen your claim. This must undergo an additional procedure that will be quicker than the application process.

First and foremost, it is important to provide the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) with both new and material evidence. Furthermore, your claim must meet the criteria for being reopened. Veterans may have their cases reopened by the VA for various reasons, such as applying for service-connected disability benefits, burial benefits, or Dependency Indemnity Compensation. Reapplying for benefits is only possible once you have completed all your appeals and they have been denied.
